About the station

Long-term vision

The 26 Avenue S.E. station is an elevated station located west of Crossroads Market. This station will serve the community of Ramsay, the Dominion Bridge area and approximately 7,600 new residents anticipated in the area. It will also provide Calgarians with another way to access Crossroads Market.

While no park and ride or bus terminals are planned for this station, riders will be able to connect to bus routes in the area.

Preparing for construction

Enabling Works projects have started in the community. These projects include:

  • utility relocation
  • land preparation
  • environmental remediation
  • transit route improvements

Long-term vision for the 26 Avenue S.E. station

This station has been identified for transit oriented development (TOD). It is ideally located to become a southern anchor for a future main street along 11 Street S.E. The City-owned lands to the west have spectacular views of the downtown and the mountains that offer additional opportunities for future TOD.

The 26 Avenue S.E. station provides additional ways to access:

  • civic services
  • community amenities
  • and jobs in the area

It is within walking or cycling distance of Calgary Police Services, Animal and Bylaw Services, the Water Services Centre and a variety of businesses that are in the area. This provides employees with an additional way to get to and from work.

The  Historic East Calgary Area Redevelopment Plan  will help guide redevelopment within the communities of Inglewood and Ramsay. Over time, the area around this station will redevelop with new shopping, living and working opportunities. This will bring new residents who wish to live and work in the area.
