Making sure the Green Line is accessible for people of all abilities is not only a requirement, it’s a priority.

The Green Line will provide an accessible transit service that everyone can get to, board and use.

Green Line’s accessible design features will meet and exceed The City’s Access Design Standards and the Alberta Building Code. This is typical of all new buildings and infrastructure constructed on City-owned land.

At Green Line stations you can expect similar and improved access design features as our newest LRT stations (e.g. west leg of the Blue Line). In addition, Green Line will be a low floor LRT system, which benefits many aspects of accessible design. Accessible design work is done in collaboration with:

Accessible design for Calgary Transit’s system is continually evolving and improving with input from the groups above. Public input is taken through the ACA to ensure a consistent approach across City infrastructure.
