Old and used electronics can be recycled at various locations around Calgary.

Please note: Our City landfills accept different electronics materials than other electronics recycling depots.

Acceptable electronics items

The list below is just a sample of appliances and electronics that can now be recycled at City landfills.

The City is participating in a two-year pilot with Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) to help divert even more electronic items from the landfill. The pilot will expand the scope of residential electronic products that be recycled without adding new consumer fees.

City landfills

Bring your electronics to a City of Calgary landfill for free recycling. There is no charge to bring electronics to a City landfill unless your load contains other garbage.

Electronic materials are accepted at City landfills and do not belong in your blue cart.

We are partnered with the following organizations who are registered with the Alberta Recycling Management Authority.

These electronics recycling depots are for residential use only. These locations accept all the same electronics materials as listed above for City landfills.

This is a self-serve depot. Please put materials into the correct labeled bin.

Vecova Bottle Depot

  • 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (7 days a week)
  • Closed on holidays. 

Bottle depot located adjacent (north) of the Vecova Aquatics, Health, and Fitness center.

Please note: These locations are not part of the ARMA provincial stewardship program but may accept some electronics for recycling.

Contact each business directly to find out what items are accepted, any associated fees, along with locations and hours.

You can also donate working computers and other electronics to local charities.

Remember to protect your privacy: Clear personal information from computers, cell phones and electronics prior to dropping off (wipe your drives/clear your SIM cards).

The City of Calgary is not responsible for personal information contained on your electronic devises by City non-partnered recycling depots.
