Arena booking increments
We book arena time in 15 minute increments. The minimum booking period is one hour.
If you're renting 5 or fewer dates, you can call Facility Bookings (option 2) or use the online application. For more than 5 dates, please only use the online application.

Arena rental rates
Arena rates vary as follows. Prices are in effect for rentals between April 1 to March 31. GST is included. A risk management fee of $4.75 is applied to each permit issued.
Fees include access to the dressing room(s) 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your rental time.

Prime Time Hours:
Monday to Friday – 4 p.m. to midnight
Saturday and Sunday – 6 a.m. to midnight
Non-Prime Time Hours:
Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Arena rental payment terms
One-time rental fees are due for payment as soon as your application is approved. We’ll confirm your rental by email. There are several ways to pay – please review the arena rental terms and conditions for options.
Step 2 – Learn about our arenas & check availability
Tip: Prepare to be flexible on date, time and arena location. If your first choices aren’t available, having two or three options on hand will make the availability search easier.

We have arenas throughout Calgary. Please locate the arena you'd like to book and confirm the amenities before checking availability

The City offers 19 indoor ice arenas available to rent for hockey, ringette and figure skating.

Arena dry pad rentals are available for ball hockey, lacrosse, in-line skating and special events.
Step 3 – Submit arena application
Arena applications are accepted as follows. First-come, first served.
Public day applications are accepted starting at 8:30 a.m.
Public Day applications received before 8:30am will be closed and you will be required to reapply.

Application approval process
It takes up to seven days to process one-time rental applications. We'll let you know the outcome of your application by email.

Cancelling arena bookings
Amendments (including time changes) will not be accepted and rental fees are not refunded for cancelled bookings scheduled between April 1 and Aug. 31.
Rental fees will be refunded for canceling a booking scheduled between September and March, provided the cancelation is received by Facility Bookings 30 calendar days or more before the rental date.
Amendments (including time changes) received less than 30 days of the booking will not be accepted. An administrative fee of $10.50 will be charged once for up to 10 cancellations or amendments, per permit, per request.
Cancellations or amendments received within 30 days of the booking are non-refundable.
