How to recycle refrigerators, freezers and water coolers
Take empty cooling appliances to a City landfill for recycling – landfill costs will apply.
This includes:
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Water coolers
- Air conditioners (residential only)
These appliances use refrigerant (freon) which will result in the following landfill costs:
- refrigerant removal surcharge (even if the refrigerant has been removed)
- charges for the weight of the appliance
