Adopt-a-Rink volunteer program

Adopt-a-Rink is a winter volunteer program through which volunteers help flood and maintain existing community pleasure skating rinks throughout Calgary.

About the Adopt-a-Rink program

We have over 65 adopted rinks and hundreds of volunteers involved in the program. Adopt-a-Rink gives people the opportunity to get together with friends and neighbours to help keep local skating rinks flooded, maintained, and looking clean.

Want to start a new rink in your community?

Call 311 to learn more about the volunteer role, process and next steps in working with the community and the City. The deadline for the 2023/24 season has passed. Intake for new rink applications for the 24/25 season will begin on April 1, 2024 and end on September 30, 2024.

Adopt-a-Rink locations

  • Adopt-a-Rink locations are subject to change due to volunteer participation.
