The Eventful City Electrical Efficiency Microgrant is intended to reduce financial barriers to implementing efficient electrical and power management of Festivals and Events within the City of Calgary. The purpose of this microgrant is to help Event Organizers plan for their event’s electricity consumption in an effort to reduce their costs and environmental impact.

The microgrant is only available one-time and provides funding up to $5,000 to:

• Identify the most efficient use of electrical and power management for the event
  
• Identify best practices to plan, use, and manage electrical equipment
  
• Identify best practices to ensure that the electrical installations and equipment at an event are properly installed, set up, and maintained
  
• Ensure the site map is clear and legible

Applications can be submitted prior to the contractor being hired or the expenses being incurred.

Applications are being accepted from March 1 – May 31, 2023.

To qualify for funding, festival and event organizers must:

• Be a registered not-for-profit, charitable organization, community association or Business Improvement Area
• Be approved through the City of Calgary 2023 Festival and Event Application Process
• Host events that take place between Jan. 1, 2023 and Dec. 31, 2023
• Submit a completed application form by May 31, 2023
